The Clubs We Play
Boxed “ages 8–12” sets are a lie. Measure with shoes on. Buy the length they’re in now. Replace it when they grow. The links below go where those lengths actually live — not because this is a brand’s website.
Fit by height, not birthday
Height, not birthday. We use 3-inch bands (the tightest chart in the sport). Other brands sell wider boxes — we only show them if this height actually fits.

Their set
48–51″ · Often around 7–8 · 7-club stand set
They outgrow a 45 in a hurry. PING Prodi G custom starts to make sense if you want one set they can lengthen instead of replacing the whole bag.

01
Measure height with shoes on.
02
Age is a rumor. Two 8-year-olds can be a full set-size apart.
03
Never cut down adult clubs. They stay too heavy. The swing learns the weight.
04
If the grip sits at the hip instead of north of the knee, they have outgrown the set.
05
U.S. Kids is the 3-inch ruler. Callaway / Cobra / TaylorMade are wider boxes — if they’re short for that box, buy the tighter length.
06
Custom (PING Prodi G, Flynn) when they compete, grow through a box in a season, or the ultralight feels whippy.
07
Buy for now. You will replace these. That is the business of growing.
The 3-inch sizes are the tight ruler. Callaway, Cobra, TaylorMade, Tour Edge sell wider boxes — listed only when this height is actually on their chart. Custom is PING Prodi G (they can lengthen as they grow), Flynn, or a real fitting.

Prebuilt = a box. The big buttons are only when this height is in the last 3 inches of that set — so you’re not buying a 52″ Cobra for a 46″ kid. Custom is built to the kid, or lengthened later.
